Getting recommended (or referred) by another business in the wedding industry is an honor to me.

Rebecca and Adam were referred to me by Nicole at Map + Compass Photography. They were planning a wedding at the Allan House in Austin Texas, and they needed help with wedding management.

One of the things that is so great about a vendor referral is I get to know and understand the vibe of the couple before we even chat. Nicole shared with me their priorities and vision of their wedding day and thought I would be a good fit for them. And she was right. They were a perfect fit for Social Planner Events.

So what made them such a good fit? For starters they were going for a natural and minimal look, they had a smaller, intimate guest list and they were from out of town.

Helping Rebecca and Adam plan their wedding at the Allan House in Austin Texas was a real treat. Leading up to the wedding, they were organized and inquisitive. Once wedding management kicked in Rebecca had all her vendors organized, hired, and kept track of things on the budget sheet I provided for her.

The wedding day went smoothly and it was a fun time. Rebecca and Adam got to enjoy their wedding day just as they had envisioned it. We had been a little concerned that the January weather would turn cold but it was a perfectly sunning day in Austin.
One of my favorite things about their wedding was the vows. They had written their own vows. They used sweet little books to keep them in. It was special. They had been together 10 years and gone through many ups and downs. There was not a dry eye in the room.
After the ceremony, there were pictures and then more pictures and then family pictures – dinner and dancing. Plus, the couple was able to visit with each of their guests since it was intimate. It was all wrapped up with a fun little couple’s sparkler session with Nicole.

About the Allan House

The Allan House is located in downtown Austin Texas, just minutes from the state capital buildings.

The 1883 Victorian-styled home is surrounded by old oak trees that are beautifully lit up by mini white lights.

Rebecca and Adam chose this venue because it felt like being in a forest while also being comfortably urban. The clear tent on the outside of the property is up from Thanksgiving through the end of February. It even allows for the main tree to be inside the tent when it is up for winter. (see the picture of the tree below)
I wish I could say that I had something to do with this design but the bride did it all. And it was lovely. The design and colors Rebecca chose went along nicely with the natural feel of the outside while keeping with the rich feel of the Victorian home inside. It takes a designer’s eye to stay cohesive.

The front porch of the Allan House is iconic to Austin Weddings since the building has been used for this since 2000. It is accommodating to catering and quick getting-ready photos as well as it is versatile with its open rooms and spaces that are perfect for small, intimate weddings.

Here is what Rebecca had to say about working with Caroline at  Social Planner Events:

“Caroline did not “worry” me about anything at all before, during, or after the wedding. I was unaware of any hiccups that happened and I know she did this so that I wouldn’t have to freak out. For example, I literally had no idea about the LED candles on the cake table not having batteries, and did not know until several days after the wedding. She simply took care of it and did it so seamlessly. I really appreciated that.”
